GLOBAL STEM REPORT - RS Components

Not sure where to start with this post. So the beginning?

When we started PDC Racing we knew we wanted to do good things. We wanted to race and compete but we wanted to do more. We are now 5 years on from the initial discussions to develop the team and we have grown on the racing side year on year, we have won titles and we have lost them.

More than that we have grown as a brand and a force to do good. We visit schools, we invite young people to the track, we promote STEM, we donate to charity, we encourage all, we are inclusive. Some real term examples? We invited a Tourettes Support Group to the track and created a safe space for them to enjoy the racing, we hosted a local SEN school at a test day, we have recruited a brilliant young engineer (STEMillie) who supports us at race weekends, we have visited schools and colleges nationwide and have attended Lego League, STEM fest and other events to talk to young people, we try to provide content that is positive and encourages people to join in.

This isn’t shameless self promotion nor a request for credit. This is a shout out to those who can. Think about how you can help, what can you do through Motorsport to help others? and why not?

Back to the main reason for the post. RS Components.

RS are a global leader operating in a competitive sector. While profit keeps them alive they reinvest in positive activity more so than most. Their STEM Projects are UK wide and are aligned with companies like Lego! We are fortunate to partner with a brand that we are proud to promote. We see the good work they do and we get to be involved. The inspire young people with their aim to #makeamazinghappen. The below quote summarises how they see it and gives an insight to what they do.

What did you want to be when you were young?

As children, we grew up with big ideas and active imaginations that led us to think we could do anything we wanted. We were inspired by the world around us and driven by a belief that anything was possible. As the leading global distributor of industrial and electronics products, we work with our customers’ of today to turn dreams into reality and support the engineers of tomorrow. Discover the stories we’ve shared so far which bring ‘for the inspired’ to life. This is just the beginning, though; join us for this incredible journey. If you have an inspiring story then get in touch, we’d like to hear it.

We share the above belief and want to inspire and support as many as we can through our racing.

Last week we were advised that we had made it into RS Components GLOBAL STEM Report (along with our good friend STEMillie - Twitter). This is a huge thing for the team and something we are immensely proud of. We will continue to work hard to support young people and their aspirations in the dark and the light.
