PDC Racing League iRacing
*Season 1 COMPLETED*
CHAMPION - DAN BLAKE - Year One
2nd - Gavin Johnson - PDC Racing
3rd - Ian Bailey - Privateer
Season 2 starts in 2 weeks - Friday 15th May 2020
Our league exists thanks to our partners RS Components and its primary purpose is to enhance STEM learning and engagement.
Inclusivity is key, anyone can sim race and everyone can learn via the process. For many it is the first step to a role in Automotive, Motorsport, Design and many other industries.
Car Setup sheets will be taken to primary school visits and the young persons cars will be raced on a live stream with feedback given on how the cars handle. What does harder or softer suspension do? How does tyre pressure affect tyres? What role do aerodynamics play? Who is your driver? Can your car win?
Get in touch for further information.
The league hosts some real racers, some sim racers and those who just enjoy being involved All are welcome to join and be part of an exciting community that seeks to support everyone within.
RACE WEEK INFORMATION
Rounds 9 and 10 from Donington were full of action as the curtain closed on Season 1.
Before we get in to the detail big thanks to RS Components, Template Construction Management Services & the Griffiths Family, Pin Gin and SR Electrical for supporting the series. Without them it wouldn’t be possible.
Thanks to Year One Racing for the stream and Andy McEwan for his commentary, also thanks to Josh Barrett and Dave Goddard for the earlier rounds.
The Week 5 stream hosted by Year One Racing is below. Its well worth a watch for overtakes, crashes and driver interviews! Some great racing.
The Championship Table
FINAL POINTS TABLE - SEASON 1
Dan Blake is the Champion after 5 weeks and 10 races, 2 wins and a lot of consistency took the title home with Blake who represents Year One Racing. Gavin Johnson of PDC Racing comes home 2nd as the only driver to score points in every round and Ian Bailey takes 3rd, a great result despite missing the final 2 rounds.
The returning PRS frontman Ben Leach was the class of the field with 2 faultless wins as Pro Racers Abbi Pulling and Adam Christodoulou joined the grid. PDC Racer Pip Hammond had his best race night to date and the popular Ian Court joined in with many other new faces. 8 new drivers joined for Donington Park and will hopefully return for Season 2 as the league now hosts 35 drivers.
Thanks to Pip Hammond again for collating the stats below. 20 drivers made the top 5 in Season 1, a sure sign Season 2 will be as competitive as ever.
